The "low-rent" solution: buy one of those sports mouthguards at
Wal-Mart (last I checked, about $1.00). I chop it into about 5 pieces (4
or 5, I would guess depending on your size, etc...). Dump one into the
boiling water as directed on the package and, once it softens, fit it to
your lower front teeth. I bought one mouthguard about three years ago
and still have enough left to make two more covers (the only attrition
I've found is losing the stupid things - they have a wicked bounce if
you drop it!).
