Ed,
I have an arrangement of "Red River Valley" for woodwind quintet that
would be very appropriate for this type of concert. It is a
straight-forward use of the tune with rhythmic accompaniments and
rhythmic interludes. The middle section treats the melody like a
barbershop quartet. You can check it out at my web-site
