no no no no NO...

You didn't look at the link did you? The SINGLE case is for A,
Bb, C, ***OR*** Eb and holds ONE clarinet at a time. You are
thinking of the QUAD case.

My QUAD case (holds FOUR instruments) a few years ago was $325
GBP (British Sterling Pounds,) so I would be hard pressed to
think that the SINGLE case would be more than $200 pounds, with
whatever the exchange rate you get to the currency you are
using. Would probably be about $300 US, but I do not set pricing
for Wiseman, nor do I calculate the exchange rate. The $325 GBP
for my QUAD came to $480 US or something like that including
exchange fees and the sort. Not sure where the $900 came from.

By the way, if you are ordering it from a reseller, DON'T. My
case which was $480 was close to $700 at the time when I priced
it from a mail order company. There also is a longer wait time
for backordered cases from a mailorder company, than if you
order direct. Howard is very easy to deal with, and if you
wanted something thin and flat, I bet he would give you a price
for a custom case for that too, if you asked him. He has made 3
cases for me, and I wouldn't have an old style case again if you
paid me.

I still have 3 hard cases (for a Bb, C, and Eb) I do not use,
but keep around if I want to just carry one instrument. I don't
use them at all, and probably will sell them or dispose of them
in the future when I get tired of housing them.

$300 is NOT $900, but if you are only looking for cheap, I might
suggest wrapping your clarinet in bubble wrap to put in your
briefcase ;-) The Buffet E11 A case I mentioned was $51.50, AND
was the exact style (Pochette) you asked about. Did you try THAT
link out?

You get what you pay for. If you want a case THAT thin and want
the clarinet still well protected, you can be the judge of what
comes and goes. I would never put my clarinets in a case that
thin unless I knew it was protected by some well made stuff. My
attache case that my Buffet Prestige was in when I had a car
wreck that totalled my car protected it so well, that the case
was almost destroyed as the instrument case was thrown over 100
feet from the car. The attache case is too big for your
briefcase, so that is not an option. I think the SINGLE Wiseman
case, being only 4" in diameter (it is a tube) would fit in your
briefcase, since it isn't a retuangular case that is 4" thick by
14" high, but is 4" by 4". The PLASTIC Pochette case for the
Buffet E11 A clarinet is cheap, and if the Pochette case fits in
your briefcase, there you go. The Wiseman, in my opinion, are
the best protection a case can give, period.

You could always get a bigger briefcase too...<evilgrin>
