Will, Thanks for the information. My mini disk recorder is a Sharp =
MD-MT15.
I have an optical digital cable that came with it but I can only use =
that to
transfer music from CD to mini disk. I have consulted with people at =
the
company regarding this issue and apparently Sharp did make a mini disk
recorder that came with the capability of transferring files from mini =
disk
to computer but this particular model did not have that capability. =
What is
the cable I could get at Radio Shack called? I have checked with people
there and they haven't been able to help me (what else is new?) While I
await an answer on this cable thing, I'll check out the Goldwave site. =
I
really like this little recorder. I use a PC microphone I got at Radio
Shack for recording and I've been able to get some beautiful recordings =
with
it. Then there is this problem of how to put it into the computer.... =
I
originally bought it specifically for the purpose of making digital
recordings of music performances but didn't realize I would have such
trouble transferring files to the computer with it.

My mini disk recorder is lacking a very important feature and

Christy,
I have a Sony mini-disk recorder that I use to make CDs for=20
competitions and such. It's not professional, but it's pretty good. =20
Anyway, about playing it into your stereo then recording it with a mic =
onto=20
your computer; you can get a cable at radio shack or anywhere like that, =

that has a jack the same size as a headphone cable, except that this =
doesn't

have headphones on one end. It has the same part that plugs into your=20
mini-disk player on both ends. Once you have that, if you don't have =
any=20
editing software, you can get something called Goldwave for $40 at=20
goldwave.com. Once you have all of that, plug one end of the cord into =
the=20
headphone jack on your mini-disk recorder and the other into the mic. =
jack=20
on your computer. Then you can record it directly into the computer.
It would be good if you could transfer files directly from the=20
mini-disk to your computer via USB or something, but the software that =
comes

with it won't let you. Sony should have added that feature and saved us =
a=20
lot of trouble.
