My mini disk recorder is lacking a very important feature and

Christy,
I have a Sony mini-disk recorder that I use to make CDs for
competitions and such. It's not professional, but it's pretty good.
Anyway, about playing it into your stereo then recording it with a mic onto
your computer; you can get a cable at radio shack or anywhere like that,
that has a jack the same size as a headphone cable, except that this doesn't
have headphones on one end. It has the same part that plugs into your
mini-disk player on both ends. Once you have that, if you don't have any
editing software, you can get something called Goldwave for $40 at
goldwave.com. Once you have all of that, plug one end of the cord into the
headphone jack on your mini-disk recorder and the other into the mic. jack
on your computer. Then you can record it directly into the computer.
It would be good if you could transfer files directly from the
mini-disk to your computer via USB or something, but the software that comes
with it won't let you. Sony should have added that feature and saved us a
lot of trouble.
