I had the same problem with my Bb until I switched cases. However I

It turns out that Yamaha's hard case for a plastic **student** Bb fits
into my briefcase whereas other hard cases don't. There's less foam
and only a tiny accessory pocket in the student case. Also, since the
case is hard, I can carry it without worry in a flimsy backpack when I
don't want to carry the briefcase.

It's humorous to watch an alert repair person's reaction when he/she
sees the case and expects to find a plastic student horn inside.
