For what it's worth, I got myself a fake I.D. when I was 14 years old.
This was in Cleveland, Ohio where one had to be 18 in order to go to jazz
clubs. I never pushed my luck with liquor, etc. but that fake I.D. allowed
me to hear John Coltrane, Canonball Adderly, Charlie Mingus and others
live! Sometimes the end justifies the means.
I had mostly a classical upbringing, but jazz back in the '60's was
considered very cool and so I wanted to know and hear more. It's all grist
for the mill.
