if you want more young people to go to jazz concerts, make sure they are
all-ages. I live in Australia and i was recently in New York. Michael
Brecker was playing somewhere, and Arturo Sandival was at the Blue Note. I
couldn't get into either of these concerts because you have to be 21!! I was
really annoyed. Also, the reason i was in the usa was because i'm in a youth
big band. Every one of the 19 people are right into it. There were about 100
people auditioning for it. Jazz is alive in the youth, but you just have to
let us into the concerts.
