[Jeroen T. Salm] Dear Janis,
I don=B4t think your student is tonguing correctly, though. What you =
could
try is to tell your student (for beginning a tone) TO SPIT in the
instrument, so as if she is spitting out a little olive seed. Then she
probably will attack her reed with her tongue, her throat wide open.... =
You
have to tell her this often (always with beginning of tone). In time she
will probably "forget" to use her throat as a way of closing and opening =
her
air column. (After that you want to have a less harder attack, ha-ha.)=20

Another way is to tell your student to breath as if you want to get =
condense
on a window (for "writing" something on that window). Then the throat =
will
be wide open. Or, tell her to think of yawning, while playing...

Hope something will help! Keep us informed!

Yours,
Jeroen T. Salm
