Rebecca, for whatever this is worth, you are discussing two topics at
once: (1) what is the 'norm' for musical skills in a young person of
your age, and (2) what is life about, where does satisfaction come from?

My answer to (2) is that life is **not** about just one thing. Look
around at the entire world, not just at music. I'm not trying to
devalue music (or any other activity). But nobody should allow the
other possibilities to slip by unnoticed or unpursued or untested.
