Don, it appears to me from the note you posted about Buffet providing a
Bay bocal for all bass clarinets is more an argument against the
Bay neck then it is for the impact of the Bay neck on very short people.
Perhaps I misunderstood your central thrust but that is the way it read
to me.

I simply wanted to say that I used the Bay neck for years and found it
admirable. I'm not very tall (about 5'7") but valued the neck for one
reason. The angle of entry into the mouth when using the Bay neck was
similar to the angle of entry into the mouth of a standard soprano
clarinet mouthpiece.

I had Charlie make another one for my bass clarinet in A, but that never
worked. It had serious intonation difficulties and he took it back. So
I used a traditional neck on the BC in A and a Bay neck on the BC in
B-flat.
