Walmart, Sams Club, Cosco...all sell instruments and have for a
while. Sears and JC Penney have also...and they have been doing
it for decades. All crap...ALL crap.

As scary as it seems, there was a clarinet at a BJ's Warehouse
Club in NJ that I saw (BJs is like Cosco or Sams, but on the
East coast only, as far as I know) and it was packaged EXACTLY
like you said. Cardboard display box, clear plastic front, and
little white plastic bands to hold the clarinet to a cardboard
board inside the box for viewing. I believe it said "NEW
CLARINET!" on the box. Put a blond wig on it and it could be a
drag clarinet, imitating Barbie. I think this particular
clarinet would have worked better as a doll anyway. Was LESS
than $200. Was not WORTH $200 either.

Buffet isn't sold just yet. It is proposed, and is finishing
with the shareholders, etc. Pretty close to finished though. Not
sure of the conglomerate's name that is buying, as I don't have
the stamina for extensive legalese reading to actually sit down
and read the press releases to know which of the companies is
the buyer and which is a facilitator, etc.
