WOW! WOW! Bouncy, happy, upbeat music in the classical mode that is
strongly tonal with frequent musical antics that never go 'over the
line'. Each to his own taste, but I recommend:

"Jean Francaix", Ensemble Wien-Berlin --- published by Camerata Tokyo
28CM-580, released in 2000 (I purchased my copy at Barnes & Noble).

The liner notes are in Japanese, but I know from another other source
that at least one piece was composed in 1998.

The ensemble is a sextet (flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, horn, piano);
but with one exception, only a few members of the ensemble play during
each piece. So you hear strong performances from individual performers
on each track, and they are good! Leister on clarinet, which is why I
asked about him yesterday.

It's my introduction to Francaix. Forget the technical stuff, it's
just plain FUN !!!
