....if you respect and trust your repair person, then is there any need
to inquire further? But for the fun of it, I did a Google search for:

STP "cork grease"

One bassoonist recommends blending STP with motor oil and a few other
things in order to oil the wood parts of his bassoon, but another
bassoonist warns that STP makes cork and some woods expand (and thereby
joints may bind if they're already tight). A third bassoonist says
that anhydrous lanolin is better than STP.
