Would anyone offer an opinion as to whether the tone of a Kinderclarinet

full-sized clarinets in Bb and C?

The child - sized clarinet your are asking about is the Lyons
clarinet. The question you are asking is similar to, "Is there a
difference in the KinderClarinet and the eefer?" Both the Lyons and
KinderClarinet are missing a full set of keys and so, limit your ability to
play. I own both. I also own 2 eefers and a C clarinet. The child -
sized instruments are OK in a pinch, but I wouldn't want to depend on them
for more than that. I originally bought the Lyons, hoping to avoid the
cost of a "real" C clarinet. It soon became obvious that this just wasn't
the way to go. I was always looking for all those missing keys with my
fingers and usually ended up having to memorize things when using the Lyons
so I wouldn't make mistakes. Hope this answers your question.
