Subj: [kl] Back from road trip!!!

Maybe you could tell from a few random posts made yesterday afternoon, that I am back from my road trip.

I had a WONDERFUL time visiting Heidelberg College, in Tiffin Ohio. In case you don't know of Heidelberg, it's a small liberal arts college in Ohio. Heidelberg has had a long tradition of support for the arts and has for many years had a lively and vigoruous music program. Especially know for vocal music, the Heidelberg College choir has toured the U.S. and Europe many times.

My recital went very well. I had, of course, an excellent colleague in Barb Specht, with whom I shared the recital. Barb studied with Eddie Marks, a Gigliotti student and long time friend of mine. Eddie recently retired from a long and distinguished career at Bowling Green State University. Barb also studied with Jimmy Pyne at Ohio State where she got her Doctorate.

I also had a great accompanist in Dr. Vicky Ohl, who I knew years ago. Thank you Vicky!

She is the daughter of Ferris and Dorthoy Ohl who served that school and community for so many years, Dr. Ferris Ohl as Dept Chairman and Choir Director, and Dorothy on the piano faculty. Even though they are both now in their eighties, the look great, and attended the recital. Dr. Ohl gave me my first real job in music and I will be forever grateful.

I also got a chance to deliver my new seminar "What I Know About Mouthpieces". Looks like the material is right, but I need to add some visual aids. Next week.......

My family still lives in Toledo, so I got a chance to stop in and say hi to my Mom, Sister, and Brotherin-law.

Anyway, I'm back and posting.

For those of you who have been waiting for mouthpiece or repair orders, thanks so much for your patience. I had a blast, and although physically worn out (700 miles driving), I came back more determined than ever to continue my clarinet related efforts.
