You might try one with an audio/earplug output. I know the
Metrina Multis of olden days had output jacks. I think the Dr.
Beat models do too.

You could then get a small set of portable CD speakers...you can
get VERY small ones now that weigh very little, and are passive,
so you don't need exterior power for them, or ones a lilttle
larger that plug in for a LOT more sound.

Maybe a little bigger than you wanted, but smaller than the box
models...
