Bruce,
I have a little metronome by Yamaha, I don't know if
it's the same one you already have? If it is, then I guess
I'm no help!
It has a volume control, and it plays two different "clicking"
sounds, one is a higher-pitched one and the other more dull
sounding, and of course it has an annoying little red light, too.
I find it's better to use a metronome when you are trying to
work on the more difficult passages (by yourself) and you
can start at a comfortable speed and keep setting it a notch
faster, and faster, until you finally have it down.
Whe we have tried using it in our quintet, we just found it
was much better to listen to each other instead of the crazy
machine!
Sue
