Following on from my aforementioned staccato problems...

... the piece which is giving me problems (it's the Mercadente Concerto in
Bb, incidentally) maintains a fairly consistently high tessitura---much of
it is above G on the top of the stave, and I have a feeling this may be the
source of a lot of the difficulties I'm having. Aside from the staccato
difficulties I find it very difficult to shape the phrases musically in the
same way as I can in the lower register.

I have a feeling Karl Krelove's earlier suggestion---too much embouchure
change---may be at least partly to blame. Any other ideas? And any
suggestions for practise technique?
