Elizabeth,
One of these days you may become good friends with somebody like
Tony Pay or Dan Leeson, and you will realize that they are very precious
people even though they make long posts that seem to go on forever. Tony
Pay knows more about the clarinet and music than I will ever know. I
used to think that he was probably a terrible clarinet player because I
didn't see how he could possibly have time to practice and write such
long posts. Eventually my student, David Kumpf (on our list) brought
Tony's CD's to our clarinet lessons, and I heard for myself that Tony
has made one of the best recordings of Mozart K-622 in the world and I
have come to know that he can be a very funny man. Once I had posted to
the list that: "Tony Pay would have a cow if he heard my students
playing un-authentic arrangements of compositions that were not supposed
to be for clarinet". Tony wrote back and told me that if he had a cow,
he would name her "Daisy" and treat her very kindly.
Elizabeth, I think you need to write a nice letter to Rebecca on
our list. She needs a good friend like you. Rebecca called me up on the
phone yesterday and we had a nice conversation and I think I helped her
with her articulation. You should show her your awesome website. Rebecca
lives in West Virginia and needs a special friend like you. ANNIE
