Hallo All,

I am very excited. I just got a new Eb mpc from the music store. I
played one scale and I just felt so relieved. IT's not me! This mpc
is so much better than that bundy thing I was playing on. It's a
Selmer HC*. I know, I know a Fobes or a Grabner mpc would sound
that much better again but this one was free and since I don't actually
own my own Eb it just feels good to be able to play.

Now, I'll have to start looking for an Eb too! Is it recommended to
go for the same brand as one's Bb? I'm leaning towards buying a used
R-13 (has a fixed crack in the barrel but sounds great) if I can add
the lft hand eb key (like on the Selmer signature). Or I am trying a
Greenline right now and am liking that for practical reasons since we
have ginormous weather fluctuations here on the prairies. But the
selmer (signature) still looms in my head. My, what a beautiful sound
that clarinet gives!

One more question to get back on track: what should i do about the
ligature on my Eb? Last year when I bought my new bb mpce I went thru
the same thing - my ligature didn't fit with a reed anymore, the screws
are too short. Is there an inexpensive (good sounding) ligature anyone
would recommend? Or should I wait until after I get my own mpc and just
ask for longer screws?

It's never ending this pursuit!

The idea is not to spend a whole bunch of money on an instrument that I
don't even own.

Cheers,
Barb
