Perhaps it would also help to concentrate on the 'shape' of your
airstream. Perhaps think about a tubular airstream instead of blasting
air turbulently into the mouthpiece. Your new mouthpiece may require
more of this than your old mouthpiece did.

Have you done the exercise of holding a scrap of paper or tissue against
a wall with your breath alone? The goal is to hold the paper against
the wall with as little breath as possible. This means that you must
'focus' your air into a narrow, smooth, tubular stream with no wasted
turbulence.
