My repair guy, (who I also play with in three ensembles,)
insists that the modern R13's are not anywhere near as
good as the older ones, say, up to maybe mid 1960's. So,
what is it about the older ones that is "better?" Maybe
they just don't make ANYTHING like they used to
anymore?
Maybe that's why you gotta have 'em Brannenized?
A friend who bought hers new in 1970 recently
sold it because she was having so many intonation
problems. She bought a Howarth instead, which I had
never even heard of before that. Anyone have experience
with those?

P.S. This is the same friend who takes lessons from Sean
Osborn, and HE loves his Selmer Signatures......
