The ground grenadilla is merely an advertising ploy to get people to buy the
instrument. That ground wood is completely coated by the resin to hold it
together. Thus if there is any "surface effect" as some propose, the
surface is a synthetic not the wood. They could use anything for a filler
for the resin and it wouldn't make any difference. However psychologically
it makes the buyers feel good.

Notice they don't say "sawdust" they say "ground grenadilla."
