However, the concept of a sound mind in a sound body has much merit. The
mind works better if the body is healthy and fit and thus able to support
the brain activity with plenty of good blood and oxygen.

In addition a musician NEEDS good breath support and physical fitness
activities is an excellent way to keep the lung system in top working order.
My own instructor was taking lessons from some one even more advanced than
she (and she had a degree in clarinet) and he recommended to her that she
take a long, brisk walk daily to build up her lung capacity.

One cannot compartmentalize ones activities as each enhances the other.
