I am really concerned about my "A" Buffet now, because it is very old

short time each day at first?

At least one major manufacturer (Buffet or Selmer, I think) recommends
that you do this with their new clarinets.

My attitude with a _NEW_ clarinet is to play it hard immediately
because, if it is prone to cracking, I would want to know while there's
still time to ask for a replacement. But since there's no replacement
for an _older_ instrument such as your Buffet, I think that
're-starting' it gently would be a good idea.

To Tony Pay: May I ask....?

Since you travel, more than many of us, between different climates and
altitudes and venues, and since you play a few instruments that could
not be replaced easily, do you put orange peels or DampIts or anything
similar in your cases?

Thank you,
Bill
