It now appears that this is in question, because Jim doesn't know. It's
not just C natural versus C#, but G natural versus G# when the theme
appears in a different key, as well as the C natural/C# recurrence.

However, I've asked Mark Brandenburg, who teaches at UCSC, to have a
look at the MS, and he's promised to report back when he makes his
weekly visit on Tuesday.

Just goes to show that you can't make assumptions.
