May sound silly, and not knowing the full details, have you checked the
clarinet to make sure its that and not her?

Biting too hard?

And while we are on a teaching thread, how can I get one of my students to
stop clipping the RH Eb Trill key when she plays? She is studying to become
a high school teacher, so playing is only a hobby, and so practice isn't her
thing, unfortunately. I have moved the thumb rest, which has cured it quite
a bit, but was wondering if there was a quick and easy technique?

TIA

Donny
