If your mail server (not the clarinet.org one) "bounces" the list email for
any reason it is recorded and you are notified of the missed messages later.
There are many reasons for your mail server to bounce messages; many times
your mail server has either gone down, you have been temporarily dropped as
an active customer, an aggressive "anti-spam" system, the Internet isn't
working smoothly, or a myriad of other reasons. You are probably unaware
that there's been any problem, but the mail list software notices these
things and lets you know (hopefully) that there's been a problem and you've
missed some messages.
