I am working on a BEAUTIFUL brand new Leblanc "paper clip" contra bass. Very lovely instrument, with the body in a black lacquer and nicely plated keys. Nice sound, easy response, all the way down to low C (an octave lower than my low C bass - WOW).

It is marked Leblanc, Kenosha, Wisconsin. Does anyone know if these are made in Kenosha, or do they come from France and have final assembly only in Kenosha?

If these are made in France, it's awful thinking that a bunch of them went up in flames.....OUCH!

BTW - the workmanship on the instrument is lovely. However, it did come with three "mis-adjustments" which should have been caught somewhere in QC.

BTW2 - What a week I'm having. In a space of three days I had an Eb, a C, two Bb's, an A, an alto and a contrabass clarinet come into my shop!
