Hi:
Although I've only been on the list for a limited time, the top questions
are always, what clarinet, what mouthpiece, what reed..etc,etc. should I
buy or do y'all play.

As it happens, my company is working on a web based software application to
conduct surveys and I thought it might be interesting to combine two
interests into one. The first is to answer the age old question of what
folks are playing and what setups they are using but to take it
considerable further and combine that with levels of experience, genre of
music being played, etc.

I don't know if this has been done before, but I've started a first
iteration of a question sheet for a clarinet survey located at
http://themmd.com/survey/clarinetsurvey.html for purposes of comment by
y'all and suggestions on what to ask as well as how to better ask the
questions you might be interested in knowing. I realize that some of the
questions are "North American" centric and any suggestions by non-North
American readers would be much appreciated.

Naturally, all results will be freely available and other than the fact
that my company is developing the software behind the survey, there are no
commercial interests involved and the survey will be totally anonymous.

If you think this is a worthwhile effort, let me know as well if you think
it is not. I'll decide whether to proceed or not based on everyone's input.
