Subj: [kl] Buffet sold to Rutland Fund Management
Date: Wed, 12 Feb 2003 09:15:45 -0500

John Dablin sent a quotation from BBC News that,
>Boosey and Hawkes "has sold its instrument workshops
> . . . .A portfolio comprising brands including clarinet
>maker Buffet Crampon and Besson, manufacturer of
>tubas, trumpets and trombones for Britain's most famous
>brass bands, has been sold to a private equity firm.
>
>"Rutland Fund Management, buyer of Boosey's instrument
>workshops, said the operations had 'great potential'."

Is that good news or bad news? Does anyone know why Boosey and Hawkes sold
its instrument workshops? Does anyone know anything about Rutland Fund
Mananagent? I hope it's not a conglomerate that cranks out cheap products
under famous old brand names.

Lelia
