Marty,

My last experience with the Rigotti was over 30 years ago, so it may not
apply nowadays, but at the time the adjusting table had a great deal of play
on its rails, the positioning gear was so sloppy that it was very hard to
get the table to stay in position and any slight jar would change the
setting, the cutter was so poorly machined that the reed tip was merely
crushed more often than trimmed, and the shape of the cut wasn't very close
to shape of any of my mouthpieces' tips.

I took it back to the store after struggling with it for about an hour. None
of the other Rigotti trimmers they had at the time were any better, so I
just waited until I could get a Cordier.

Of course, things may have changed in the last 30 years, so I may be 'way
off base now.

Bruce

<snip>
What was the problem with the Rigotti? I was going to order one.
