Subj: [kl] Please snip quotations

This morning, Klarinet Digest No. 4341 arrived as an attached text file of
163,716 bytes. (Is that a record?) Out of curiosity, I saved the digest,
then deleted all of the irrelevant material that seemed to have been included
by accident, such as several sets of Administrivia attached to multiple
unsnipped messages. Cutting those messages down to the portions that
*needed* to be quoted for the replies to make sense trimmed the digest down
to 46,615 bytes: That digest was more than three times longer than it should
have been.

Even snipped, too many of the replies consisted of two people obsessionally
repeating the same argument, over and over and over again, sometimes with
mere one-liners attached to the bloated quotations. Oddly enough, those most
convinced that some of the rest of us were too interested in the Castelnuovo-
Tedesco thread nonetheless were by far the most tenacious contributors to
that thread, which they prolonged by nagging again and again that we
shouldn't have been so interested. GAFL! We understood you the first time,
and the fifth time, and the tenth!

Please, people, snip and include only the relevant material you *need* to
quote, and consider consolidating replies, instead of sending similar replies
to many different messages. Saying something twenty times won't make your
point better than saying it coherently just once.

Lelia
