I play a Bundy 1400 as my regular jazz horn. I have done a little work on
it, but there is no problem with intonation at all. I'm sure your problems
are correctable, probably by adjusting key opening heights. Or, the
problem might even be the DEG barrel. If so, a factory replacement barrel
for a Bundy 577 is not expensive -- in fact, it is cheaper than the DEG!
