This has become a very interesting thread!

Let me clarify a few things about my original post on this issue. First
of all, I'm sorry if it appears I am only interested in the correctness of
those notes to impress the judges. I figured that on a competition such
as this one, the quality of the submissions would be so high that a little
detail such as two notes might just make a difference. I really like this
music and have enjoyed working it up. Competition or not, I'd like to
know what the right notes are.

Right now, I am keeping the notes as C#. Not because I am choosing to
express my individuality, but because it seems to make the most logical
sense based on what happens later on in the music. It just fits better
with the style of the rest of the movement.

To the people who keep saying its no big deal, you are entitled to your
opinion of course, but I think it is! Articulation and dynamic markings
would be small issues (and my copy of this piece has numerous articulation
inconsistencies) but when you start changing notes in something like this,
I'm sorry, but that is a big deal.
