Walter,
Are you on your computer ALL the time? When do you
have time to make mouthpieces and barrels and do
repairs and........
Just kidding.
The 3 1/2's feel like a 2x4 on my mouthpiece.
My friend who plays on 2 1/2's doesn't like a real
close facing, so maybe that explains why he says
what he does. I have a couple of other mouthpieces
that I never use, both are good hard rubber mouthpieces,
but with closer facings. Joe says I need to have him re-face
them, because they are too close. Maybe these would work
better with a stiffer reed?

more about the facing on your mouthpiece than it does about your embochure
strength and/or development.

Closer facings require harder reeds, usually more advanced players use them
as it provides more contraol, such as quick attacks and fast tonguing, as
the reed tip has a much smaller distance to travel.
