Does anyone else have experience with this? I just saw a photo of
Kooiman's Etude (thx to Jeroen Salm for sending the link) and wonder
if it might not help - by providing support at two points on the
thumb.

[Jeroen T. Salm] Thank YOU for thanking me, Anna. :-)=20
FOI: I am playing with that " Etude" for 3 weeks now. I am now getting =
used
to it, and now feel that I can play (longer) without having thumb (and
arm)pain. I have "installed" the thumb rest on a few clarinets of my
students in the last few weeks. Especially the (very) young ones like it
very much: now they're capable of playing the instrument without pain, =
can
hold it more steadily. I notice they have a better playing position now! =

Really: I was informed about this thumb rest by some articles here on =
this
list. The inventor (mr Kooiman) happened to be the Man who once fixed my
cracked Wurlitzer clarinet, one day before a solo-concert (Debussy=B4s
Premi=E8re Rhapsodie) with orchestra. I mean, he is living an hour drive =

What a help, this list!! :-)
