Artie Shaw returns to KCLU 2/23

"Just a programming note. To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth
of Bix Beiderbecke, Artie Shaw has consented to come on my
"Jazz Routes" program to talk about 2 of his heroes: Bix and Frankie
Trumbauer. We'll be playing selections from the "Bix Restored" series
on Sunbeam; the 4th and final volume was just released. Also in attendance
will be Michael Kieffer, the chief restoration engineer on the project
(and my partner in OJL).

"Jazz Routes" with Artie Shaw will air Sunday, Feb. 23 from 6:30-8:00pm on
KCLU (www.kclu.org) in Thousand Oaks, CA, Artie's health and mood
permitting.

If you're in Ventura or Santa Barbara counties, you can hear it at either
88.3 or 102.3 FM.

For the record, Artie will turn 93 this coming May.
He is in reasonably good health although he has
difficulty reading due to failing eyesight."
