Patricia, (Hi!) I deal with this problem all the time. Of course, you could replace your cork on the tenon with thicker cork and make the replacement barrel fit tighter. What happens then, when you want to switch back to your original barrel. It's too tight of course. It's quite a problem for the after-market barrel maker.

When people ask me to make a barrel for them, I ask to have their clarinet for a day or so, so I can custom fit the barrel.
