Hi Rob,

Please have a look at http://www.tonkooiman.com/TOPIC-etude.html
I bought the there mentioned " Etude- thumb rest` for aprox. 25 bucks...
Easy to fit on your (every!) clarinet, adjustable, and wonderful!! Maybe
much more comfortable than a neckstrap!!

In my case it worked (and I am a pro),

Onderwerp: [kl] neckstrap predicament

Hey all--

I'm playing on a Vintage R-13 and every now and then my right hand gets
tired supporting the instrument. Sure, I could use my knees to hold up
the
instrument, but I don't like disrupting my sound. I have a simple
neckstrap, but unfortunately, the strap's hole does not fit around my
awkward thumb rest. The thumb rest is adjustable with a simple screw
sticking out.

Does anyone have a suggestion for either a) how I can get the strap to
work
with this or b) what kinds of neckstraps might work with this kind of
rest?
I _KNOW_ the neckstrap industry is just SO lucrative and there are
plenty of
different ones...oh gee, was that sarcasm?

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Rob
