My experience parallels Walter's. The Buffet (metal) rings are the right
size (a bit loose) for the center joint on the R13. Slemer (plastic) rings
are too big for this joint, but are about right for the barrel-to-upper
joint socket on the same instrument. It's close, though - a slightly
smaller tenon would cause problems in removing them
