Audrey,

While you wait for treatment, see an occupational therapist. He/she can fit
you with a custom splint that will allow you to do most things with the
extra support. I have them for both hands and use them when playing. The
only thing that gives me trouble is washing dishes by hand, but I don't like
doing that, so I let all the dishes go dirty! I wish!! I get a lot of
questions and funny looks when I wear the splints, but they do the job. Let
me know what you find out and best of luck. I'll send you my best thoughts,
but I must warn you, lots of folks say I am an airhead. Take care. ;>})
