A set of tuning rings is VERY inexpensive, and is a great "fix" for a barrel that's too short. If you buy a set that has three rings - 1/2 mm, 1 mm, 2 mm, you're ready for almost any tuning situation. In fact, there's a really good argument for using a short barrel, as you can always make the short barrel longer, but you have to cut down a long barrel to make it shorter.

I use a 65 mm barrel on my Bb and a 64 mm barrel on my A, BTW.
