I played all the way through high school, and started in a local
symphony but that was short lived because of sched's. Then I took
40 years off, now I play regularly in our church orch. so I am a
Rank amateur but love it. The thumb joint thing kind of runs in our
family. I think you might find if you quiz some of your relatives
you find this is not uncommon to run in families...My Mothers fault!
