Subj: [kl] Tax Time and music expenses
Date: Mon, 27 Jan 2003 10:49:58 -0500

Hi List. I am planning on using a tax preparer through the AFM local
here in NYC to have my taxes done this year since last year I made
money at playing and have accured many expenses. This will be my
first time claiming an unincorporated business. For those of you that
work full-time and play pro on the side, do you have any tips that I
should look into or things I should have prepared?? I kept all my
receipts from repairs, music, travel, training, lessons, etc and also
an itemized Excel sheet of what I earned or received as grants and my
expenses. Anything else I should have ready?? Thank you in advance.

"Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you
don't live it, it won't come out of your horn. They teach you there's
a boundary line to music. But, man, there's no boundary line to
art." - Charlie Parker
