Georg,

Most people with access to such sophisticated machines also have access to
very precise measuring tools. It this is the case, I would recommend that
you find reeds that you like....and then start an effort to document the
dimensional standards for that brand/style of reed. (the ones that work for
you) Once you have a good idea about what makes a good reed for you.....have
at making your tool.
I'm not sure any of us can tell you how to go about the design of your
"personal clarinet" reed.

Regards,

Forest Aten

Subject: [kl] Reed design using cnc machines

Hello list,

At the time I´m redesingning my "personal clarinet" reed. I use a (cnc)
computer controlled milling machine. As anyone of you experienced something
in this field and can give me some advice? I want to make a model of a reed
out of brass to use it in a reed copy machine.
I have the whole surface of several reeds and have about 500 points in
1/100mm and design a programm to mill the surface of the reed.
