Define "higher" I guess. In high school I never
really had to play above G4. However, since I was a
always bugging my band director to give us complicated
music (Bernstein's 'Overture to Candide' three months
into the school year after three weeks of rehearsal)
he finally shut me up last year when he made us sight
read an edition of Stravinsky's "Circus Polka." 1st
Solo Clarinet went up to C4 a few times I
think...needless to say...I did not enjoy the
experience...
