rbushidioglot> I beg to differ. The Vandoren B45 is a relatively open

rbushidioglot> My recommendation would be the entry level Clark Fobes
rbushidioglot> mouthpiece, the Debut. (I, personally, play a Ralph
rbushidioglot> Morgan mouthpiece, but this mouthpiece is in the $130
rbushidioglot> range.)

Richard,

Would the Nova also be suitable? I'd prefer to get a rubber
mouthpiece.

I'm also willing to spend $50-75 to get something I might actually
want to play after 6 months. While I may be new to clarinet, I was a
music major in college and have played for 30 years. My ears can hear
the difference (and it's really painful having a beginner in the house
again. B^)
