Although it is regrettable whenever a young person decides to quite, not
everyone like music as much as "we do"
I am a professional musician, teacher, conductor etc and neither son choose
a career in music. However, the played for several years, enjoy music and
went on to other things.
As hard as it may seem it is a fact of life. Don't forget even Math
teachers have to accept the fact that some of their most brilliant students
decide to not go into a math related field. As much as I dreamed long ago
of playing clarinet trios etc with my sons I had to accept the fact that it
won't happen.
I wish your siblings well and let's hope your dad will be able to look at
the total picture.
